Happy SUNDAY

Hello Friends,

Well today was a slow easy day. I just finished another painting that I started yesterday. This is a still life that I have done twice now. I purchased some beautiful Daisy's and they will look super once I "Dip" them in oil and smooth them on a canvas.
I have been looking back at some great artists in history and one of my many favorites is Gauguin. I just love the way he played with color. A "Post Impressionist", he and Van Gogh complimented each other.
Take Care Friends and again thank you for your support.

Painting A DAY!

Hello Friends,

Here is another painting that I did yesturday (4-26-07) This was from my "Minds Eye", I did not have any visual reference except what was in my Mind. It was painted on Panel, so I will not be asking too much for it on eBay. Its painted using Oils so its going to take awhile to dry completly.
I like the "Dream Like" feeling I get when I look at it for awhile.

I hope you all have enjoyed looking at my work as much as I enjoy making it. Check back often to see more.

Monday, monday!

Well its Monday,
Today I am working on a Rose. Not just any rose, this rose is from my very own backyard. I wanted to capture the pure essence of a rose. I wanted a close up painting, right into the center. I use oils and I love the ability to blend the mixture together on the painting. I do very little mixing on the palette, I use my brush and the canvas.

I am so excited about my new life. I am doing what I was born to do and creating this beautiful art is a blessing for me. It is my goal to each day create a new painting in the Impressionistic style. Pushing many colors to the extreme at times, but at other times letting the colors find themselves.

This painting you will find on my eBay site: tamiscornerstore. Check it out.

Thanks friends for your support.

Sunday Morning

Hello Friends,

I sit here looking out my sliding glass door and see a beautiful Robin attempt to drink from my pond. It has been raining here in California, something we don't get enough of.

What I am working on today is a still life of roses in a vase. I have always used color. I believe color can influence a person. It has been proven time and time again that cool colors calm the spirit and bright colors warm it.

In 1999, I had a work accident that left me disabled from my last profession (Electrical-electronic repair). From the very moment I realized that I could not return to my life as I knew it, I began drawing and painting. This gave me an escape from my pain and depression.

It has been a struggling Journey. I have given up more times then I can mention. But it wasn't until the beginning of this year that I finally realized that I have a new career, my love of art and most importantly, paintings.

A person must realize there destiny or they will forever flounder in life. Through the tough times and good times my wife and family have been by my side, always giving support.

I am posting some paintings on eBay that I feel are beautiful, they would highlight any room. I am requesting that the bids be placed not only for the appreciation of the piece but to also help me continue on my dream. To help me purchase more canvases and paint, to let me keep creating and showing the world what beauty I can create.

I will not charge shipping if the price gets to a level that I can pay for more supplies and not lose well needed funds from my family.

I will offer the purchaser of my work a discount for repeat purchases.

Saturday Morning

Hello Friends,

Today I wanted to show you a painting that I am currently working on. This is something that I started without preparation. I just picked up the brush and began. I am surrounded by rolling hills with the mighty Oak Trees. I live in Paso Robles, Ca. A beautiful place that is slowly growing and the landscape is changing to vineyards. It is a local commodity, wine is fine indeed. We have over 20 wineries in a small area.

I am trying to give expression to my paintings through the use of color. I want to achieve a glowing effect.

The First One

Hello friends,

My name is Ed Kochendarfer (That's pronounced just like this Koch- like Coke, then "en" finally "Darfer") I was told it is German, and could have the meaning of a Village Cook?

I have been painting and drawing since becoming disabled from my last occupation in 1999. I have always enjoyed drawing, and that was my best grade in elementary and high school.

I have taken classes at the local community college and have made it my life's work to see as many masterpieces that I can. Each time I see the paintings that are over 100yrs old, it almost takes my breath away at the beautiful work these artists created.

Just a few days ago I had the privilege to be with my wife on her business trip to Sacramento. I couldn't miss going to the Crocker Art Museum. Would recommend it to any one who is wanting to see a wonderful collection especially of California Painters. The Museum is loaded with many pieces which as I understand it, is only a fraction of what they really have. The pieces are actually rotated monthly. The House is the original home of the Crockers. It has been remodeled and a sizable building has been expanded to hold the pieces. They have a complete wing for Contemporary works that are also changed monthly. I was most impressed with the current exhibit of Bety Saar's work, splended.

What is my Daily Blog about? Well the idea is to let you in on my creative mind. I try to tell myself that I need to work out a painting before hand. I have in the past used my sketch book and charcoals to try different compositions. And other times I just begin painting, not being concerned with composition and have had some disasters. But at times I am able to piece something together.

What painting style do I have? I have a loose style that is close to Impressionism. I do Landscapes and Still-Life's. I have been using Watercolors lately but as of today have decided for my new "Blog" venture that I will return to Oils.

Color is my friend and I use as much as possible.

Sit back and read on Friends and I will try to give as much as possible as to my thoughts during Conception, Creation, and finally Completion.
